Disco tonight

Buddies this morning saw the usual variety of shared activities. It's always a great time of sharing across the school and the students really enjoy it.

Riley's learning trail involved a obstacle course which a number of students went through at lunchtime today. Everyone was timed and the top 3 received a medal. I got a certificate for effort; my time would have been better but the wind had changed and made the going very hard for me, not that I'm one to look for excuses.

The disco tonight promises to be a popular event with food as well, see you there.

Ski trip

The ski trip is all go for next week and there is a final letter coming home about it today to get your details so we can make the final plans.

In our assembly today it was great to hear what students have been doing to earn certificates and see the sharing of some work.  I'm privileged to be able to be in each class every day and see what is going on;  it's nice when the classes can share with the whole school.

Tomorrow night is the school disco, I hope everyone has their masks.

Good day for gardening

This morning the Year 4 to 6s were out in force making use of the good weather to continue the development of the gardens.  Today they were engaged in activities ranging form planting to digging up bark to painting buckets and tires.

The year 7 & 8s were at technology all morning.

The junior classes had an early lunch and headed off to Gym once again and by 12:30 everything was quiet.

The afternoon saw House Sports again and the competition is hotting up with points for chants and fair play making a difference to the standings.

Lunches

When I was in Koromako today I was able to get some fresh ideas for lunches with some interesting sandwich recipes as the class were writing out their favourites as part of their work on how to write instructions.

The students were again making the most of the sun today during fitness time and some even taking the opportunity to be outside for maths.

The Disco is this Friday. The theme is 'Masks' so feel free to wear anything from masquerade to Buzz Light Year or anything in between. Any mask is a winner, even a Zorro one. Cost is $5 a child or $10 a family, tickets at the door.  See you there!

Nice Day

Days like this make it easy to come to work but hard to work once you get here.  Luckily we've got ERO here next week so I have to get some prep work done.

In the weekend I attended the Diamond Harbour Rugby Club prize-giving and it was great to see our school represented there by a number of students. It was even better to see the trophies they got; very large they were (the trophies, not the students). I have more photos but they are on my wife's camera, so my apologies to the students I haven't posted photos of.

Our choir went off for a rehearsal this morning and were back in time for lunch.

The children have made the most of the warm weather by getting outside and running around or playing with tires. It also enabled us to continue with our House Sports Competition this afternoon. Long may it continue.

Gold, Silver, Bronze

A great day was had by all at Pioneer Stadium today. The experiences across the school were mixed, from students that got six or seven autographs and photos of medalists to those who saw very few medalists at all.  The main thing was that everyone enjoyed the atmosphere and the day was very worthwhile.
I managed to get the photo with a gold medalist that I was hoping for, Thanks Eric!
Also managed to wear Sarah Walker's medal for a while, until she realised it was missing and I had to give it back.
Thanks to all of the parents who provided transport and supervision, making the experience possible.
I was also pleased to get a photo of Sarah Walker and her new man.
