Connectivity

It is always worthwhile going to conferences and talking to people in a similar situation to yourself. The sole charge and small school conference I attended last week was a wonderful example of this. Talking and listening to others you find out that everyone is dealing with the same issues and there are always plenty of ideas.
While I was waiting at the airport to fly home I was able to log on to the 'Rock Our World' live broadcast on my iPad while conversing with everyone in Kereru in Edmodo on my phone.  Governors Bay had their 5 minutes of fame where they shared the music they had been working on, along with Hannah's poem. Ruby, Ruby, Lucy and Lachie all answered questions intelligently and everyone came across well, proudly representing the school. Val was assisted in the technical aspects by Hannah and Oskar. It was great to be able to see it and keep in contact with the class during the time. Experiences like this are what hand-held devices are all about and leave no doubt as to their power and benefits for communication and collaboration.
Today I met with the Principals from Lyttleton and Diamond Harbour. It was good to catch up, discuss where our schools are at and where they are headed and share ideas to ensure we are all collaborating in the interests of getting the best for our schools. Together the four of us have a lot to offer and we plan to work closely on projects in the future.

Another great performance by the netballers on Friday, winning 14-nil in chilly conditions. Thanks to all who played, coached and supported!
